DP5 crashes when applying groove templates, osx

On a mac g4 1.25hz, 1 gig mem. osx tiger
I've tried everything, it keeps crashing when i select groove template from the drop down menu. I use this tool on every track i produce. what a pain, now i gotta sit around wait for an update. same thing happened last release.
back to 4.6.1
An ideas or workarounds would be great, thanks

Try trashing the pref file. This helped when my copy of DP 5 was giving me odd problems.

Just had this happen to me today for the first time. I knew somebody would have been there before me!
