Playing a .wav file that is on the desktop - RESOLVED
I've always been able to play a song file (mp3/wav) simply by selecting it and hitting the space bar. Now, all of a sudden, I select the song file, hit the space bar which opens up the little song window with the play button, hit the space bar and it will not play. If I double click it, it imported into the Apple Music app and plays. I don't understand what has changed.

Try relaunching the Finder (command - option - esc). Everything works the same on my machine.

Re: Playing a .wav file that is on the desktop
I just shut down my machine and re-opened and it all works.

I'd mark this as resolved, since it is not a DP related problem.

Done. Moving over to "General Macintosh" forum as well.

I always hated that it associates every piece of audio with Apple Music. Right click on any wav file and select Get Info.. Now go down to the 'Open with' section, change it to something like QuickTime Player and then click the button that sets all wavs to open with it.. Now when you double click one, it will open in Quicktime instead of copying it to your library in Apple Music and leaving you with a file you can't find because there's no metadata in it heh.
