All AU plugins are missing

Post by fypy »

Hello !

Excuse my English, I'm French.

This morning, when I opened my project, I got a message:
"Effect error: The following effects could not be found"

In the list, ALL AU virtual effects and third-party instruments are missing!

I replaced the preferences of the motu audio system, but it does not work.
I uninstalled Dp, and installed again, same problem

It seems that DP no longer sees the audio unit plugins (components).

Do you have an idea of the problem ?

Thank you in advance

Best regards

Francois

It looks like upgrading to High Sierra may help.

Read through this thread to see if matches your problem.

Thank you !

It is that, i attempted to update my iPhone this morning...
It is quite incredible that an iPhone update via iTunes has such a consequence...

I'm not sure what files exactly I have to search with Time Machine, but i will try ; no choice there

Best regards

Hi-

Yes its a disgrace that Apple let this bug through, and seem to have no urgency to fix it. I had to literally go back in Time Machine to just before I installed the update and reinstall the whole system..Time Machine can do it.

I’m wondering what this bug is exactly?

Is it in iOS for messing up Macs with an OS that is over three years old? If it interferes with the functionality of iOS 13, lots of luck with that, “disgrace” or no.

Is it in something that is in operating systems that are over three years? I think that we know that Apple is unlikely ever “fix” that.

Apple supports operating systems for three years.

Hopefully, a solution will be found for those who cannot update beyond Sierra but I’m not betting one way or the other.

Yeah, but the patch was for users with three to four year old operating systems. And, the patch was for iOS compatibility. The fact it hosed AUs is surprising, to say the least. Clearly something was missed. I would have been happier, and much more forgiving, if iTunes simply warned me my machine wasn't compatible with my phone.

And here I am, three years later, dealing with this unwanted “update” that snuck in last week.
(That App Store “feature” is now turned off.)

Looks like I’m gonna have to do the Time Machine restore to the day prior.

With the upgrade you’ve done to the Mac, is it not possible to update to perhaps High Sierra. If so, it might be worth considering. My recollection is all the OS X versions after Snow Leopard were dogs until you got to High Sierra.
