Video tempo mapping ?
Melodyne4 does a great job with time stretching - multitracks, and tempo mapping, it even exports a MIDI file with the tempo map included.
Now the video guy needs to adapt his footage...
Is there such a thing for video, that can import a MIDI tempo map to
play the video in sync with 'tempo mapped' audio ?
Or how is this done ?
Video spezis around ?
Thanks
and best regards
Klaus

Re: Video tempo mapping ?
I doubt there's an app to do that. Depending on content, you could simply stretch the audio (or retime the MIDI) to match the timing change. Voices and sfx might get a little odd. For most audio, I'd use IRCAM Lab TS. It's a little pricey at $250. I got it on sale for $49 a few years ago. It does a much better job than DP and easier to use than MachFive 3.
I would assume the video guy would deliver the new version and the post audio guy(s) would resync as described above. Having a MIDI or audio app change video is something I've never heard of.

Re: Video tempo mapping ?
Thanks MLC
I was searching a bit and found
https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/u ... pping.html
and thought this is commonly known - just not by me -
This work needs to manipulate the live audio ( me and DP and Melodyne )and *afterwards* the video guy adapts the video
Thanks for hints
and best regards

For the video work I do, Final Cut Amateur (lol) does what I need, but After Effects is the go to for the video folks I work with. Not surprising. Thanks for the link. I have After Effects envy now!

Re: Video tempo mapping ?
When I heard that Melodyne4 would accomplish tempo manipulation of ( live ) audio, I had Melodyne4 envy...
It does a lot of cool things, bit I couldn't believe that when deleting audio ( blobs, even with the most sensitive settings in displaying the blobs ),
some artifacts remained audible, even when selecting all of a bar and deleting...
Then I had Digital Performer envy again although v 7.24
BTW
When v DP9 was released, I think I read that the new time stretching stuff still was buggy , is that fixed now ?
And will it work on 10.6.8 ?
Thanks and best regards

Don't know about 10.6.8, but the new algorithms are most excellent.
