Bug:
• Control click on tracks in Tracks window > pop up menu > delete folder and tracks, only deletes the folder and not the tracks.

Re: Suggestions and requests for future update please
1. mute MIDI notes
2, Notation, what happens now is ???
3. 'Capture last take as recording'- Logic has an 'always on' attitude towards MIDI on tracks that are record enabled. So if you're practicing a part over the music in the sequencer and you stumble upon a swing you normally have issues with, you can call up the MIDI on the spot. Great feature that you didn't know was useful until you don't have it.
4. User definable parsed MIDI phrases in the Track Overview, glue, split etc. <-- I think just having it in the TO only makes a HUGE amount of sense, you get the familiar ability to look at all the data in a track and you get the ability to grab a user defined phrase and move it around.
Mostly mute MIDI notes though, that's a pretty useful feature that every other DAW has.
Plus fixing the notation, I'm a noob with notation but putting in two quarter notes in Quickscibe shouldn't result in one quarter note and and two tied eighth notes.

Automatic new MIDI takes when recording on a looped track - like the audio feature (which is brilliant anyway - who needs Polar?). That would be a great feature - surely this would be less complex that the existing feature on audio tracks?

I'd like a way to select a section, perhaps between markers, that could be made to loop through the memory selection (for vamps, jazz solo sections to be repeated, etc) on the fly on gigs - something that could be given a command and assigned to a controller.

Not only is it working, but a nice new treat is that all of that works in the control strip too. I seem to remember that either bypass, or delete, or move/copy inserts didn't work in the control strip like it does in the mixer. With DP8, the control strip has all the functionality that the mixer does. Nice!NazRat wrote:Option click turns plug bypass on/off and control-option drag copies plug with settings to other tracks. Don't know that that was ever not working.

I admit my eyesight is not what it used to be but they need to give me a way to increase the size of the whole transport window. Fonts through out need an ability to increase size. I fight this by manipulating the screen resolution at home but the lap top is hell on stage

Note: W and T temporary groupings — for Visible and Selected events, respectively, may be altered in the Temporary Groupings setup. Seems like there is a menu item for that somewhere, but I get to it via the Groups window. Here's the basic window from the DP manual, page 163, I think.

Choose the items you want to respond as a group when using W or T (or other track groups).

Re: Suggestions and requests for future update please
We have been asking for MIDI muting for so long and it is such a no brainer. Yet is has not come.
I think it might be impossible for MOTU to do it. It might be that “under-the-hood”....MIDI mute implementation will never work due to some origin of design which makes such a thing impossible. As if the whole workstation would break to add such code. I am not a programmer so I don;t know if my guess is correct, but something must be wrong for MOTU to have ignored such a no brainer request for soooo long.
Or..we can try to beg MOTU to NOT make MIDI mutes and maybe they will finally do it?
Begging to implement this feature sure has NOT worked.
And I would like to add better 3rd party automation capabilities as well as improved time synchronization with VIs inside of Vienna Pro 5.
And last but not least, a better algorithm for pasting automation.
As DP stands now, if you paste Chorus 1 automation into chorus 2, you are very lieky to get a 16 bar slope of controller data. DP should be smart enough to EFAULT to a hard, level automation curve when pasting section without default to a sloping line drawn between previous automation and new automation.
For example, if bar 16 has volume at a value of 25 and one pastes automation of 50 for that same track 30 bars later, the 25 value should stay at 25 all the way to the newly pasted 50, NOT slowly slope up to a value of 50.
Though there are workarounds for this problem, it really sucks that DP does this. Pro tools certainly doesn’t.

Re: Suggestions and requests for future update please
Please fix the 'hardware playthru level bug' that is reported and confirmed many times, like here

Having to use Cuemix Fx just to get monitoring levels equal during a recording session for rec / playback as a workaround is cumbersome at least...
Best
Klaus

Re: Suggestions and requests for future update please
W works for mixer faders, not for send volume knob, and if it would, it would be for all visible mixer tracks which is not what I'm asking for, there has to be a way to temporary "select" all tracks you want to adjust their send level. Toontracks' Superior Drummer, has this feature for the faders, you can drag along the bottom some place that highlights those tracks, then you can adjust all those faders. This would be great even for dp's mixer, besides the W feature.Phil O wrote:W key works for that.chaim wrote:• a way to adjust multiple send volumes/pans at the same time
