Do a comparison of Konrakt with Mach 5 v3 time stretching? Like a single piano sample or drum hit? I'm curious how good the ircam stretch is over kontakts algorithm. If no one feels like it that's cool too. Just wanted to hear a few examples.

I can tell you already, there is no comparison. M5-3 IRCAM rules!

I figured that YOU would say that! I still want to eat to see what I'm missing. I've also been looking at iris. I'm sure that has all that great izotope stretch stuff and since im not really looking at it as a traditional sampler it may fit the bill.
Do you have both though? Care to throw a single sample in and stretch it?

Re: Would anyone care to
I have kontakt 4. Sure, if that works for you I'll give it a stab.
Re: Would anyone care to
The time stretching algorithm in K5 is much better than K4,so the comparison between M5 & K4 wouldn't be relevant IMO.
I don't have Mach5 but from all reports Mach5 has the most advanced capabilities with time stretching of the soft samplers.
Regardless they're both great apps, for me the availability of more 3rd party libraries for Kontakt is why I use it.
At some point I expect to get Mach5,I hope they'll have more 3rd party libraries available ,for now it will be because of the built in Ircam technology and time stretching capabilities Mach5 offers.

David? You want to supply a sample or two and how much to stretch by?

So I suppose KG will do K5? I only have 4, but when komplete 9 is announced will certainly be upgrading.
Here is the link. There is a single piano note, a snare drum, a drum groove for non pitched but rhythmic and a piano loop for pitched and rhythmic.
Try doing 2 or 3 octaves above and below. Don't use any of either samplers built in rhythmic assistance, just pure stretch.

Keep it clean and unnormalized, everything at unity gain fellas.
May the best algorithm win!

I'll get to it in about an hour unless I get a break.

Re: Would anyone care to
Unacceptable. You do this amazingly generous trivial task for me WHEN I ASK FOR IT.
Take your time man, I don't think I'd be listening to it until tomorrow. Eyes and ears are burning anyway.

Re: Would anyone care to
As I said in pm to MLC 2 of the files are caf
I can't figure out how to get them into Kontakt.
Tried Audacity, crashed Mac seemed weird so I trashed.
QuickTime plays them but I don't see how to get into K5
