Re: Final Cut Pro X released today! 6/21/11
Also there is currently no support for 3rd party effects plug ins. To be fair, and since we talk about audio plugins here, that quote is talking about video effects plugins. FCP X will accept 64-bit Audio Unit plugins from third parties. But I'd rather use those plugins in DP. After exporting an OM...

Re: Final Cut Pro X released today! 6/21/11
After researching on some other sites, I have gathered that this new version doesn't support OMF or XML export. I don't know if these features will be added back at a later date, but it will make it difficult for those using DP (or anything but FCP X) for audio post applications if video clients sta...

Re: Which effects plugin suite to buy?
Yeah, I love Stillwell's stuff, too. BUT, none of his plugins have the FFT spectrum analyzer thing that Charles was looking for. Here's a thought, though. Both Voxengo and Blue Cat Audio make freeware analyzers, so if you have enough insert spaces you could put that last in the chain. Here are links...

Re: When will there be a DP 8 or DP 9?
Guess Motu is short staffed. Maybe, maybe not. I know that version 7 has had a lot of incremental updates, and that there have been tons of improvements made since DP 7 rolled out. So they're obviously not so short staffed as to ignore it. Did you notice that an update came out a couple of w...

And there's Trackplug by Wavearts:

The analyzer isn't as detailed, but I really liked the sound when I demo'd it long ago.

Re: MP3 to Aiff
He was able to take care of this in DP, so he doesn't really need that program either.MIDI Life Crisis wrote: You don't need to spend a penny for batch export.
Thanks for mentioning it again, though. I'll take a look at it myself!

Re: MP3 to Aiff
barreltone Just discovered that Amadeus Pro version 2 ( recently released ) has a huge fix for this type of job whereby you can actually drop a file or folder to a designated box and it works. Do you have Amadeus already, and would get in for the upgrade to 2.0? If you have the Pro version, 1.x, th...

Re: When will there be a DP 8 or DP 9?
Since Pro Tools and Logic are both on version 9, DP is going to skip 8 and 9 and go straight to 10, so it'll always be "one more" than the competition. After 10, they'll just call it "infinity plus one."

Re: DP6, SoundFlower and VogueII
I installed SoundFlower and selected it as the audio input in CoreAudio, configured the hardware driver within DP6, assigned the correct input for the track (Soundflower 2Ch)... But when I record, nothing is recorded. What I'm doing wrong? As you describe it above, you have some routing wrong. In C...

Re: Amadeus Pro
I use Amadeus Pro quite a bit. I started because I liked their "repair centre" for clicks and pops, and in older versions of DP, the waveform editor was a bit quirky and difficult for me to navigate. I liked, and still like, the way Amadeus Pro works, so I still use it. What I use even mor...

Re: More Waves specials.
The adaptive noise reduction is tempting, but I just bought RX2. I'm pretty impressed with the Izotope package, especially for the $. I really loved auditioning the de-clip, and I'll definitely use that in my next project.

Re: MP3 to Aiff
Used DP7 for this job and it is sooo simple and effective. Therefore no need to buy Barbabatch at this time. Tried Amadeus Pro but  could not figure it out and did not have the time to plow thru the instructions or head to their forum. Glad DP worked for you - I thought it would! And about Am...
