BTW, I come from Logic and I was impressed by Shooshie's clarity in putting into words something that fits my deepest reasons for switching to DP. I consider less relevant the things I don't like about Logic. Again, the applications are only secondary, more important are the two main attitudes and ...

The point is lost on those of us who have used both for years. I've still yet to use Apple Loops, most of what Shoosie is talking about is the implementation of Apple Loops, and its' a non feature to me. Live and Acid are much closer to what Shoosie is talking about as far as loop DAWs. The whole po...

ased on MOTU's description in the manual and on their web site, this shouldn't help! I'm only using a single audio interface, my Digi 002R. I'm running MAS, and the 002R is using Digidesign's Core Audio Driver, so that DP will recognize it. Just out of curiosity, what happens if you set it to two? ...

I think it is a slightly different yet important distinction than equating it to roughly a 4GHz machine...which it is not. It is a 2.5GHz machine...that will process twice as much at 2.5GHz...if the OS and the program in question an take advantage of the multiple processors correctly. :) True enoug...

Interesting, I don't think anybody here is going to like my feelings on this but... I simply think both logic and DP are not using the quads to full advantage. I'm getting a dual 2.5 G5 from a friend for next to nothing in about a week, and I really hope everybody here with quad g5's and copies of L...

I'm stoked. This is going to be the upgrade that puts me back into DP land, left for Logic at 2.7.2. While I like Logic, DP seems like a much better fit with Ableton Live. I'm Looking forward to using DP 5 in a few weeks on a new dual 2.5 G5, and what with the jump from a dual Gig G4, I'll barely no...

personally I don't feel that hindered by learning more than one DAW, and see no problem in owning and using DP, Logic, Live, Pro Tools etc. I started on DP, and got ticked off at 2.7.2, switched to Logic, and got fed up with Logic's bugs in 7. Meanwhile I've been using Live, and DP is just in many w...

Now my info is secondhand BUT, I was told by a friend that MOTU told him the quad would not give any significant boost over a similar dual. I ahvent verified this myself. MOTU tech has given me incorrect info in the past so I dunno.... Their was/is a thread here of a DP user with a Quad that said h...

OK, after years of having Logic trounce DP in benchmark tests, this is probably the first time in a long time that DP is on top ( on the quad anyway ), and I'm really curious as to whether it's true? All that would have to be done is for somebody to load instances of a nice CPU pig freeware like Cry...

G5 quad VS G5 dual anyone?
Hey, I'm really curious about DP on the quad machine? Results with Logic showed that unless you tricked the machine into thinking you were using two of the processors by instantiating a Logic node on the same machine and directing Logic to the node, you weren't able to use all four processors. Repor...

Logic... Apple makes the hardware, the OS, and the app... I think there's a reason for how optimized it is don't you think? Actually Logic was always more optimized than DP, or Cubase PC or mac, or Cakewalk Sonar. Apple bought the leanest audio engine out there, and people consistently claim it's b...
