I've used a few, I love the Beta52. Cut around 150-250 HZ (depending on the kick) and boost the bottom, yowzer! Add a little 8k-12k and you've got a killer live as well as recording mic... actually gonna track some drums tomorrow w/it!

Event, very nice. Even the little ones, the PS6 and 8's are remarkable, as long as you add a sub.

You'll all probably have a heart attack, but a couple weeks ago, in frustration, threw an old AKG C1000S on a tenor sax, and WOW! I had to double check and make sure that I really was using that mic. Noone believes me when they listen to the track. The next weekend I tried the same mic live, just to...
