UNIX executable files
I've just migrated from G4 OS9 to Dual G5 Tiger and when I tried to open performer files stored on my Lacie disc created in DP 3 OS9 they are appearing as UNIX Executable files and will not open in DP 4.6. DP 4.6 will not even recognise Audio files or Audio AIFF files either which also appear as Unix files. Anyone help please!!!

OS X moves towards a more endings-based environment. If you've got lots of files, and some of those files don't have their source application available anymore for the 'historical' system of application association to work the same way, *and* those files don't have extensions, you can make it think that they're all unknown types.
Generally, adding the file extension will make them work as expected. The files themselves *shouldn't* be corrupt.
However, note that their safety may depend on their original format, and whether or not metadata has been lost along the way.
Open the audio file in something like Peak if you want to verify it; alternately, just try giving it a ".aiff" ending on the filename and try again. It's hard to say how applications will attempt to load stuff when filetyping isn't available.
Note: I'm not a DP user - so if it's something DP specific, I probably can't be of any use whatsoever.
