Motu has not announced at the NAMM a PCI Express version of the PCI 424 !

Very disappointed !

Is Motu taking is big PCI users for idiots ? ( I have a 54 ins/out running on a G5 2x2, 24I+1296+2048 MKII)

Do we have to launch a boycot of Motu's products ?

After Digidesign, now it is the turn to Apogee to provide a PCI Express solution ?

IF MOTU dont come up with a pcie card then i will HAVE to boycot motu. Thier firewire products are rubash and thier pci products are non compatable with the latest machines. My boycot wouldnt be spiteful (well a little bit) but i dont have any vested interest, or a patriotic'esque sense of loyalty (which is stupid when you are trying to buy equipment) so stuff it. I have now got to buy an apogee set up or pro tools set up, well lets face it this may be a blessing in disguise. I dont know what motu's stratergy is, but i bet a lot of you are getting mighty defensive and are writting lists of reasons you think motu rock.
Type those reasons into google and start looking for better products.

Were any of you actually AT NAMM and spoke to any of the MOTU reps? There's a thread about DP5 in the DP section where this comes from:

There will be a PCI-express 424 card. I asked them today and got that answer. It is being developed right now. No answer as to when. Though I got the impression sooner rather than later. And speculation with the MOTU guy was that it would have a "comparable" upgrade price to the existing 424 card upgrade pricing.
Not an official announcement, but it's definitely straight from the unicorn's mouth.

Posting my two cents worth of encouragement to MOTU to get this PCIe card out sooner rather than later. Hopefully their spies are paying attention. Contrary to popular belief, there are a ton of studios and transfer houses that need the 2408 for 24 tracks of ADAT / DA-88 transfer in one box, without the unecessary expense of buying three of something else with features that are not needed or redundant.

Got a mail from Motu

Indeed!!

Since you're no longer calling for a boycott Cyril, you might want to hit Edit and change the inflammatory Subject line. ....or at least spell "boycott" correctly.

I hope this isn't a forecast of gloom for those who don't intend to replace their computers and/or audio interfaces anytime soon. If I do upgrade my audio hardware, it will not likely be another MOTU, but it would be nice for the drivers to stay reasonably compatible for a while longer, if my 424 lives long enough to be moved to another machine.

How did they do with 324 Windows support after the 424 came out (serious inquiry, not sarcasm)? If it was OK, it would suck if that was only because the coding and 424 development was similar, and the PCI-e work won't help any.

Maybe wishful thinking.
We all know they've been attacked here plenty of times already, and it didn't amount to much.

Sorry for my English, I am a frog :) :)

remember the time of the move from PCI 324 to PCI 424, we had to fight because Motu would not listen to it's user.

This morning I received another mail from Motu tech support :

> As of now, we do not have information currently available regarding PCIe cards, and we will have more information later on MOTU's website: http://www.MOTU.com

you are 100 % right

My mail was not inflammatory, because I said :

> Do we have to launch a boycot of Motu's products ?

I have ask so many times to be able to have a bigger window of the "cue mix", has never been done !
This is not much to enlarge the definition of the cue mix window for big users like me that have 54 ins
