HELP!

Hi guys. I'm starting to get a little upset with DP. G5 double 1.8, 2 Gigs Ram, and DP can't handle 16 audio tracks... the same tracks that Logic Express handles without problem when they were all MIDI... And i'm running them from another drive. I was a LE user only, but i wanted more, so i bought DP, but i'm starting to think that i should trade it for logic pro, since beeing an upgrade for LE it's about the same price as DP. Maybe i'm doing something wrong (it's my first week with DP), but i RTFM and can't figure out what... HELP!

dp can definitly handle more than 16 tracks.....i think there is an issue with your system (btw 10.3? or 10.4?) or perhaps there is an audio unit that dp doesn't like (which is stupid, but a possibility)...eliminate plugins, then add back in one at a time and see if you can find the offender (a PITA).

My best advice would be:

1 repost with a specific subject line that will give people a good idea of what your problem is

2 Give all pertinent info you can think of about your system like OS version, DP version, audio interface and driver versions, buffer settings etc

3 Describe your problem in specific terms - any error messages and specifically what they say, etc. Does it happen all the time or one file or once a week, etc. Does some set of actions cause the problem -that sort of thing.

4 List out the troubleshooting methods you've already tried "I've tried trashing MAS prefs, DP prefs, repaired permissions and tried these buffer settings...." or whatever you might have tried.

I'm sure someone will help you (or try).

Regards,
Phil

Forget all i said. Stupid me...
Opened the background processing window, and DP was converting all files because i had selected in preferences to convert to project tempo.
Problem solved.
