Traveler and ULN-2

Hi guys,

my setup is: G4 DP 1.25 / osx 10.3.9 10.4 / DP 4.6.1 /Pci 324 with 2408 mk 1 / crane song HEDD 192 / UAD x2.

A few days ago I installed my 2nd UAD and now i got many crackles and pops.
I tried everything in the software and at the pci slots ,changing slots,buffers...e.t.c

Well nothing worked!if I pull out the 2nd UAD its all ok.
If I use the build in audio and both the UAD's its ok.
Crackles and pops thru the PCI 324.

I was told from UAD that I have to upgrade to a PCI 424.

Well I am thinking of buying a firewire interface for better compatibility later.

New G5's and all these new Apples tricks...who knows!

I am between the ULN 2 and the traveller.

which one would you choose?

I don't care much about the AD DA because I use the HEDD for that.
none the preamp's because I use outboard.

I am talking about stability of the system!!

Am I gonna have all these pops and crackles with a firewire interface?

If I connect the HEDD to the AES could I connect a PCM 90 to the SPDIF?

Also is the AES protocol the same in all the boxe's.Does it affect the
quality of the sound?
