Need Help with Kick Drum Settings on my UA 2610

Hi,
I'm a new owner of the UA 2610 and want to use it from my kick drum. So far, i'm having trouble getting a good kick drum sound out the 2610...which I know has to do with my settings. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to set the knobs? I have the manual and that didnt help. I also talked to someone at UA...but that didnt help too much either.
By the way...i'm using a Shure Beta 52...not sure if that's also contributing to the horrible sound i'm getting.
