Trouble with Traveler and Logic Pro!!!

Hello!
I'm having big problems with the Traveler and Logic Pro. Nothing works. "Error while trying to syncronize MIDI and audio" are the message I get evrytime I try to record anything using the Traveler.
Anybody who has had similar problem? Maybee even a solution?
I'm using a Mac G4 Dual 1,42Ghz, OS X 10.4.3
Logic Pro 7.1.1
the latest firmware available from the Motu site.
I've contacted tech support at Motu. No reply. Even tried to call. Impossible to get through, line was busy 6 hours straight...
Does anyone have any experience with Motu tech support? Does it work?
I'm a new Motu user. This isn't what I expected since I've heard very good report regarding the Traveler. I choosed between RME Fireface 800 and the Traveler. Maybee I made a mistake!? Time will tell.
Best wishes!

Hi!
try increasing the buffers.
That error can come due to HD inefficiency aswell.
It's not allways the Motu Box fault
it's one of these set and forrget type things, so it' allways hard to remember what one did to remedy a problem.
Hope this helps anyways...
Regards

Does this error come up as soon as you start recording, or do you get some recording and it stops? It "could" be your hard-drive.

hello!
Thanks for your replies. I've tried every trick in the book to make it work. No success.
I'm using a external firewire drive. It works flawless when I'm using it with my Mbox, both with Pro Tools and Logic.
All my problems started with the Traveler. When I read different postings on this site it seems like a lot of people are having similar problems with Motu products .
I'm also reading about Motu support not beeing good. I spent the bigger part of friday trying to get through to them. The only result was a busy line... I'm starting to get a really bad vibe about Motu and their products.
Maybee I'm having bad luck. I can't tell. I haven't had this much trouble with anything before.
First thing monday I'm calling my local distributor for some serious discussions about this. Maybee I'll make a swap to RME Fireface 800. Well see.
Best wishes!

I'm using logic pro, latest version without any problems. HOWEVER, I am not using the MIDI on the traveler, only the audio. Did you try using a different MIDI interface, and only the audio on the traveler?

And maybe there is something with the chain of FW devices...

If he is chaining his firewire harddrive and traveller on the same cable/buss, then that is for sure what his problem is. I have an 8s8mkII, and I absolutely under no circumstances can run both at the same time. I put my 8s8mkII on it's own buss with a $20 pci firewire card, and left the FW HD on the mac's buss. Works perfect.

I've had this problem with Logic. It's not the hardware, because I experienced this same happiness with both the Digi002 and with an M-Audio 410. You need to reinstall the MOTU drivers and related software. But first you have to surgically pull out the old ones.
Unplug the interface. Run the uninstall program with the MOTU software. Navigate from the Finder into the the following directory:
/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers
(the root level /Library, not the one under your home directory)
and pull out the motu driver file in there and throw it in the trash.
Ditto the MOTU files in your personal folder library path:
navigate into your home directory /Library/Preferences/
and throw away anything with motu in the filename. Should be a *plist file and a couple others.
Then reinstall the latest MOTU drivers from their site and reboot. Problem should go away.
There's a complete uninstall check list here:

I wonder if anyone knows about similar instructions for Window XP. I am getting horrible MIDI performance with the Traveler, which I must say is a big dissappointment since I was hoping to use this box for both MIDI and audio.. The audio seems to sound fine, but the MIDI line gets all kinds of random delays. When I use a different USB keyboard, no delays at all..rock solid MIDI timing playing into my soft synths..
Does anyone know if this is just a known and unfixable problem with the Traveler or whethere there is a workaround to make it work right? Do I just need to get a seperate MIDI USB interface. Pretty lame if so, but whatever works...

It‘s been some time since I had to plugg a MIDI-Interface the last time, but back then it was always large buffers- good MIDI-Performance, small buffers - MIDI Nirvana.
