My question is simple. Where do I find the human sync function in DP? I wanna " tap" in 1/4 notes and let DP read my tempo.

I am halfway of converting to Logic ( bought Logic Express ) but in LE 7 the function is not avail. I have to upgrade to L7pro to access that function and thats a 700$ cost so I thought I'd check my old mate DP ( now upgraded to 4.61 ). But I dont know where to find this function.

In the bottom there is a recording with a drummer that sober had the accuracy of a stoned 75 year old musician. the tempo changes 10% in each direction so I had to abbandon clicktrack or a metronome. instead I need to set a tempo afterwards so atleast I get a referal to bars and 1/4 notes.

Anyone know what this function is called in DP and how to find it?

It's called Tap Tempo, and you find it in the Receive Sync menu item under Setup Menu.

1) Open that dialogue box,
2) select Tap Tempo,
3) choose the note you want to use for your tap (I suggest something out of range of the music, but in the same key)
4) and choose how many beats to count it off.
5) Close the window.
6) Then COMMAND-7 to slave to sync.
7) Now, record-enable the Conductor track (and not any of your other MIDI tracks)
8 ) Hit record. All the lights should indicate that you're recording, but nothing is moving yet.
9) Start tapping your selected note. After the countoff beats, the music will start. Think ahead like a conductor. Have your tempo changes in mind before you get there. Trust your ear and ignore the music.
10) Once done, rewind and click COMMAND -7 again to turn off the Slave to Sync. Play back your music and hear how you did. Not everyone gets it right the first time.

You may need finer resolution so that you can tap twice as fast. You may have to change the meter to 8/8 instead of 4/4, or try setting the metronome click for 8th notes. I don't recall if that will do the trick. Tap Tempo used to have strange inconsistencies, but it seems to be working very well these days. Generally, rather than try to tap at twice the resolution, I just go through it, then I open the Conductor track, select all the tempos, change my resolution constraint box to half its value (upper right-hand corner of the window), then I option drag all the tempo markers half-way to the next beat. That copies them and creates a double marker for every tempo change, giving me twice the tempo resolution. Then I can adjust the in-between tempos manually with the reshaping tool. I prefer this to trying to do double-res tapping. I find it faster in the long run.

Have fun. I always get a kick out of tap-tempo. If anyone is around watching, they get even a bigger kick out of it. I've finished tapping, to find I have a small audience laughing their heads off. Geez. And I thought I looked like Lenny Bernstein.
