I am doing an album with a band using DP, when I started the project I made a new sequence and used it as a template for all of the songs to save me from having to add tracks, set inputs/outputs everytime i started a new song. I did this by using 'save as' and then using the song name.
My problem is that all of my sequences all use the same audio folder and so things are starting to get a bit messy..
I would like to start tidying up a bit by 'deleting unused soundbites'
If I do this in one sequence will it delete the audio files that are being used by other sequences?
Also can anyone sugest a way that I could reorganise these songs so each had its own audio folder?

Yes, it will delete the other songs data. Do a save as and check the "duplicate audio data" box. Then open each new project file and Delete unused sound bites. Hope this helps.

The easiest way to deal with this is:

Open a DP session file.

Go to the Soundbites window and Select Unusued Soundbites from the mini menu.

Remove the soundbites from the list (not delete)

Save As from the File menu.

Choose a new Save destination.

Select the check box to Duplicate Audio Data.

Do this for each of your songs. You will then have separate session folders that each have an Audio Files folder with only the audio for that song.

When you are sure you have all your songs properly sectioned out, you can then throw the original proect folder in the trash.

By the way, I work in a similar way. However, I use a single session file and either record into one long sequence chunk (and separate the songs into individual chunks later), or duplicate the Track Layout and record into separate sequence chunks. I prefer to have a single DP session file for the entire project.
I also archive the original session to DVD ROM before I start to do any editing. That way if I screw up, the original data is safe.

Hi, I have another way that works for me.

I set up my "new" project, with all voice assignments, input assignments, sends for monitoring to the musicians, etc etc. Once it's all set I save as "new template". Then, every time I start a new project, it's all set to my favorite settings. A little adjustment to the cue sends and I'm off.
