Fine tune I/O settings

Hi to all the DeeP'sters out there,
I was just curious about the I/O fine settings values you guys are typically using.
I just used the DP 'calibration' session template, and recorded the audio snare track back to my DP and set the offset to -367 so that the recorded snare is exactly at the same place that the original one..
but is nt audio going through my D/A converters out of DP , analog mixig desk, cables, preamp and A/D converters back into DP suppose to hit DP back with a normal delay ?
in which case if I set the offset to compensate for that delay, will I experience issue when I m recording something directly into the A/D converter ( cutting by half the signal path compared to the calibration session..no D/A converter, no mixing desk, and less cables...) ?
Am I clear ?('')
Thanks for your answers !
