I have song in an album project I'm working on, with bass and acoustic guitar and some percussion already recorded, that needs to be slowed down (from 125 to 120bpm). I have a friend with a ProTools studio that has a plugin (PitchinTime) designed for that purpose who would do the conversion for me. I have several questions on how to best supply him with the song to repair and re-install into my DP project as follows:

What is the best format ie. WAV, SDII etc. to give him that requires the least conversion to and from a protools project?

Do I save and send individual tracks with the crossfades flattened?

Do I just send him the whole project folder?

Have any of you had any success with PitchinTime?

Is there another tempo modification program that works well with DP?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you tried to do it in DP? I've had a lot of luck with more drastic tempo changes than that. Just make sure the audio for each track starts at 0:00. (Paste in a little audio at 0:00 and merge the tracks if you have to.) Change the tempo (125) to your new tempo (120), then select all the soundbytes and adjust soundbytes to sequence tempo and give it a good listen.
