Tip: flattening out nested track folders

Post by crduval »

Hi;

Here's a tip to quickly flatten out nested track folders that I just discovered. I was in the process of writing a post to ask about it, when I found a solution!

Background: I had a project that started out with a template that had a track folder for 2 rhythm guitars. As I worked on developing the song, I kept adding more and more guitar tracks, which I eventually broke into subfolders (Verse Guitars, Chorus Guitars, Bridge guitars, etc) to avoid confusion. I then wanted to pull these subfolders out from under the original template folder and bring them to the top folder level.

Turns out, all you have to do after creating the subfolders is select the top level folder (which highlights all sub folders and their tracks), right click on it, and choose "Remove Folder And Preserve Tracks". Voila! All my subfolders are now at the top folder level and the original folder is gone!

Hope this helps someone out.
