For those who have badly damaged hearing

From playing in really loud bands without hearing protection I now had a massive hearing loss between 2 and 6 Khz. It goes really deep. I haven't trusted my hearing accuracy for many years. Recently, found out about a company down in Baton Rouge called HEARS PLUGINS. They have come out with a plugin that you place at your master track. There is an audiology-type hearing test that you go through. It determines your hearing deficiency and makes up for it while you record and mix. Once you're ready to do a mixdown you bypass the HEARS plugin and record your mix track and you're much better off. I've used it and it seems to work. It's not expensive either.

Interesting. I've looked into a set of plugins supposedly developed with EU funding to deal with similar issues, referred to as 3DTI. These emulate various types of audio environments including hearing loss, and hearing aids. It claims to be able to do hearing tests that meet the standards of at least some European jurisdictions, and it mentions being able render audio to compensate for specific hearing loss measures.

While it is free, I found it pretty much impossible to get a handle on. Maybe the app you've posted would be better, but presumably you still need a measure of your hearing loss. The plugins listed below might work for that.

This link might not contain the usual installation files, but those are available somewhere, just not sure where they are at the moment.

To actually get my hearing measured I go to an audiologist. I've been wearing hearing aids since 2000. However, this plugin "HEARS" could be an easy way to get an idea of your degree of hearing loss and possibly tend to get you to go to an audiologist for more specificity.

For v5 of their VSX plugin, Slate is working on a sorta ear wizard that will measure users' hearing and calibrate the headphones accordingly.

That concept sounds very promising!

The Hears plugin includes the audiiologist-style hearing test with all pitches so you don't need anything else.
