Random note lengths in MIDI

I have a bass track. It has a note 3 beats in length but plays for only 1 beat in length. This happens randomly. I can go back and play it again and it might play correctly. Is this happening to anyone else?

Double-check to see if there's a duplicate note "underneath" it. Even in that case, you wouldn't expect the note to cut off, but there is that "glitch" that was "fixed".

Stubbs' answer likely the correct one, but could also be a stuck note (round robin) that can be reset by All Notes Off command or Disabling/Re-enabling the VI.

Overlapping notes will cause this but I experience it only on imported tracks. When that happens, I highlight all, hold down the Command key and drag the end of one note to the left a little. This shortens all of the selected notes.

I had a similar problem once except the bass notes kept playing way past their duration. After being baffled for a few days, it turned out that the template was corrupted.
