Moving/copying plugins bug

I’ll go to move a plugin from one slot to another empty slot and it won’t let me. DP acts like I’m dragging the plugin into some inactive part of the window. This will happen across slots on a single track or from one track to another.
It can happen in the sequence, mixer or channel strip windows/panes.
Rebooting the Mac, restarting DP, or reloading the audio system brings it back to normal for a while. Every once in a while disabling the track and reenabling it will work too.
Does anyone else experience this or know a fix?

I've never had an issue with that here.
I use Option-Drag to copy plugins (with current plugin settings) from track to track every day.

I feel like the times I've seen something like that it's turned out, in my case, to be destination tracks that didn't match the track count or didn't have input routing assigned.

Same here. Option-drag to copy or just drag to move from one track to another.
There are a few plug-ins where copying or moving makes no sense at all. Melodyne is an example.

Hmm! Interesting. I've been getting this for a few years I think, and at least a couple of DP versions. Maybe it's a conflict with another plugin. Thanks yall

If you let us know the plug, someone here might know more about it.

It seems to happen with any plugin when the bug occurs. What the conflict could be I really have no idea but if I see one correlating I’ll post the info here thx

Same here. Option Drag has always worked. Do you have some macOS system setup that hijacks the Option key and makes it do something else?
f you can reproduce this problem in a simple project,, maybe send that to MOTU tech support to see if they can reproduce it, and tell you what’s going on.

Sometimes resizing the mixer helps, or try creating a new track and moving the plugin there.

Resizing the window actually did work today when the issue surfaced (I'd tried making a new track many times, in the past, it doesn't work IME). Although to resize the mixer window I had to first undock it from the consolidated window, resize it, then pop it back in, then close the now extra tracks pane that had opened in the consolidated window above it. So it worked but was laborious in my case with how I set up my consolidated window. Still faster than restarting DP though. Thanks for the tip
I'll hit up MOTU eventually once I sort out if there's a plugin conflict
