Improved AV and audio drivers. Adds dual-display support to the M3 MacBooks. Gets the system ready for Sequoia month after next.

If there are any additional features, no one is talking about them.

Well, THAT could be significant.

Thread at the Avid DUC. Someone updated to it and said Pro Tools is running fine. I suspect it's pretty safe, but I'm hesitant. Maybe tomorrow. :)

Went ahead just now and did the Sonoma 14.6 updated. Loaded a few medium-sized DP projects and all seems kosher here. My Avid EuCon setup (S3, Avid Control iPad, Avid Control Desktop) and Console 1 all working fine. I take no responsibility for others' experience... but seems to be working here.

Anecdotally, there are some users on other forums running PT on the Sequoia beta saying things are even smoother and it appears that Apple is making optimizations. I can only imagine things should keep improving, if only incrementally, as Apple sloughs off the Intel code under the hood.

I updated last night and went through some familiar routines. I see no difference at the moment. I expect that the iOS/iPadOS update … oh wait, 17.6 dropped a few minutes ago..

macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 dropped today
As for what’s new in macOS 14.6.1, we’re now told that a recent iCloud issue affected a small number of users who were unable to enable or disable Advanced Data Protection (ADP) successfully. This update addresses and resolves that problem. Previously, users who tried to activate ADP and failed received a clear error message and saw an accurate reflection in the user interface indicating that ADP was not enabled.

On the other hand, users who attempted to disable ADP but encountered failure saw the UI show ADP as disabled, while it remained active on their iCloud data. With the update, these users will now receive a notification directing them to Settings, where they must confirm their decision to turn off ADP. Despite the issue, the affected users ended up with the same or higher level of security than they anticipated.

I updated this afternoon and have not noticed a difference.

Just confirming that I skipped 14.6 and went to 14.6.1 with the latest versions of Kontakt and DP and all seems to play well together.

Good to hear. I’m on 14.6 and will go to 14.6.1.

I will say that I still have an issue where my Mac Studio does not properly shut down sometimes when my 828es is connected (via TB) and powered up.

Therefore, because the Mac has to reboot a few times during the update process, I always make sure the 828es is powered off when I start an update.

Hello all!!

I guess I'm the (un)lucky one!

I just updated my M1Pro MBP from Ventura to Sonoma 14.6.1 and the MOTU drivers are not loading, which makes my trusty old 828mk2FW have teary eyes!

Ok, first I didn't panic. Like when updating to Ventura (or Monterey, can't remember), I "allowed" the MOTU drivers in the System Settings > Security & Privacy and restarted. But after restart I got the same warning, allowed again a restarted, same thing, I must have done this 5 or 6 times. And then panicked!

So I searched this forum for Uninstall instructions, removed everything, restarted, installed the latest version of the MOTU drivers (for the 828mk3Hybrid - MOTU Audio Installer (UB 89555) the same one I add before). Then after installing and restarting I got the same warning, restarted and here we are again.

Please I hope one of you can share a solution (or suggestion) for this like you have in the past.
Okay the 828mk2FW is 20 years old but if it does what I need flawlessly I don't want to spend on a new one.

Thank you
