New computer, new woes!

Post by Jopeycast@gmail.com »

Just got my new Mac Mini M2 Pro. They shipped it with Sonoma installed which is not playing nice with my 828ES or DP11. Im reading online it’s not possible to install an older OS on this machine, does anyone know if this is true? Any help much appreciated.

What’s not playing nice? What are the symptoms? I’m on a M1 Max Mac Studio on Sonoma 14.5. I have an 828es also and am running DP 11.31 and it’s working pretty well here.

There’s an issue with Kontakt 7 and M2/M3 Macs but it was solved by Sonoma 14.5 apparently.

As per Mactracker, that Mac originally had an earlier OS version (OS 13) when first introduced, so it is possible you could erase it, and install that version. But from looking at the issues discussed here, it doesn’t see that OS 14 introduced any issues, other than those later fixed, that weren’t present in OS 13.

Hi,

not not nearly enough info. You should update Sonoma to the latest build released earlier this week.

You must allow DP to access the microphone. You must also change the Security Settings to Reduced in the Recovery Partition before loading the Pro Audio driver, then you have 30 minutes to add the driver after installing.

There are many threads with screen shots but I don’t know where to begin.

You can only use your 828 while booted from your System drive.
