MIDI makes it to DP MIDI monitor, but no further?

Resurrecting my studio for a last go-round (DP 9.52, Mac OS 10.7.5, MOTU 2408 (1 of), MOTU 1224 (2 of), MOTU MicroExpress.
Controller MIDI apparently reaching DP (according to MIDI Monitor), but does not make it to record-enabled MIDI tracks.
Have screen-shared with MOTU support rep to confirm all configs are (out seem ) correct. Tested MIDI controller by routing directly to external MIDI devices via Clockworks (successful).

Am at a loss. Anyone have any thoughts?

Am considering complete uninstall/reinstall, but my currently-existing install media is an update purchase and I don't know whether the procedure would be any different because of that.

Check the Input Filter. It might be possible that nothing is being recorded because it's being filtered first.

Also, check the view filter, but at least with that, you'd hear.

Is the MIDI being patched thru? If so does that reach the MIDI destination?
