Hello all I installed the new DP version and also updated the latest Vocalign Project 5 version and it works as a plugin but when I choose it in ARA it crashes DP. Anyone else out there have that problem, thanks !

Also tried Vocalign as a VST3 in the mixer window and it crashed DP. The AU version works fine in the mixer.

Dont know about project. Ultra is working fine here. And I believe that is what is being demo'd by MOTU.

Haven't tried Vocalign Project with 11.3, but it worked properly as VST3 / ARA under 11.22 for me in M1 Mac Studio

Hey Marcus does Vocalign ARA work for you in the previous version of DP ? I thought it was just introduced in the new version. Let me know thanks !

I bought VocAlign Project some time ago and used it ARA in DP as a VST3 some time ago, prior to MOTU announcing official support. Unfortunately, I can't recall when I started using it or with what version of DP 11... it was probably shortly after I picked up my M1 Mac Studio about 1.5 years ago.

I've still yet to test it on my current system.

I was excited to see that MOTU was announcing that DP 11.3 "Added ARA compatibility for Synchro Arts VocAlign and Sound Radix Auto-Align 2". I own VocAlign Project 5, and while the AU version has worked (as a DUB channel plug-in when fed by a Side-Chain input from a GUIDE channel), the ARA functionality has not.

To test it out, I upgrade to DP 11.3, uninstalled the previous version of VocAlign Project 5 and made sure I was running the latest version of the VST3 plug-in. My attempt to "Set VocAlign Project 5 VST On Tracks" (Audio>ARA>Set VocAlign Project 5 VST On Tracks) results in a blank plug-in window appearing. Closing that window crashes the program. Attempting to set the plug-in on Soundbites results in the same behavior. Any other creative workarounds result in a crash.

I understand bug discovery and reporting is part of the process. Hoping this gets rectifies soon.

Hey Mbeazley exactly the same thing is happening to me. I tried it on my 2017 MacBook Pro with Big Sur and my old MacPro with Mojave. Same thing.

VocAlign Project 5 V5.1.4.1 is working great as a VST3 in my Mac under DP11.3, but not as ARA. I can capture audio in real time, as one would do without using ARA... set a send on guide and Capture to VocAlign5.

But when I tried to apply "Audio>ARA>Set VocAlign Project 5 VST On Tracks", DP crashed.

I'm pretty happy with the old way of working, so not a big deal for me.

I did just notice, however, that when edge editing MIDI notes in the SE, the note border goes the same shade of gray as the black note background in my preferred Theme of MoTools, essentially rendering the note invisible while edge editing sharps and flats. Note becomes visible once edit tool is released. Doesn't do this in 11.23, because the note border is white.

That needs to be fixed but there MIGHT be a workaround. I know that with Melodyne, not only can you apply it to tracks via ARA, but it’s also possible to apply it only to a particular soundbite. Maybe give that a shot as a possible workaround? Again, no idea if that will work.

I don't mind the capture process, so I'm just going to bow out on this issue. ARA seems like it might be a bit undercooked in DP at this time, for Melodyne, too. I get inconsistent results in the Melodyne interface when working ARA in DP. Sometimes we scroll along merrily, sometimes we just don't. As it stands, I like DP's pitch editing just fine; only need to pull out Melodyne when tuning notes within a chord.

As for the disappearing MIDI notes in SE; well, I uploaded a couple interesting little movies to that other thread..
