Crashing when I drag in MIDI editor

I am on a trial.
I am having trouble with multiple crashes seeming to do with cursor movement in the MIDI editor, but also after a stop a loop and then move the mouse. Sometime I get a window to report the problem, sometimes not. But it happens a lot.

I am using Windows 11, latest release DP 11.2 latest release, i7-12700k, Asus ROG Strix Z690f, 64 Gb DDR5 5200.
I'm not sure what other info might be useful.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Not on Windows, just want to comment: I use the Sequence Editor for Audio AND MIDI editing now. Works great for me.

The MOTU site only lists Windows 10 in the tech specs for DP.

Thanks for pointing that out. Given that W!! has been out for a year and a half, do you think the fact that they are not compatible is a sign that MOTU is planning to end Windows support?

I really want to be able to use the negative delay feature in expression maps, but I can't work with the frequent crashing, I can't revert to Windows 11 and and can't justify buying a Mac Studio to run one application.

I might give it a go with my MacBook Air with my samples hosted on my Windows machine in VEPro. I hope that an M2 running Ventura is OK on the MAC. I only have 8Gb there though...

Looking at my windows logs, it seems that the BBCSO vst3 may be crashing DP:

AppName DP.exe
AppVersion 11.2.2.27551
AppTimeStamp 6425b6f9
ModuleName BBC Symphony Orchestra (64 Bit).vst3
ModuleVersion 0.0.0.0
ModuleTimeStamp 619e600e
ExceptionCode c0000005
FaultingOffset 0000000000ca030a
ProcessId 0x2c9c
ProcessCreationTime 0x1d98282ee8e055e
AppPath C:\Program Files\MOTU\Digital Performer 11.22\DP.exe
ModulePath C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\BBC Symphony Orchestra (64 Bit).vst3
IntegratorReportId 2dfc2642-a88c-4287-b4a8-5c6e7ee6d43b
PackageFullName
PackageRelativeAppId

I don't know if that actually helps track anything down. This particular error occurs whenever I stop playback.

Seems unlikely, But I don’t follow what’s going on in the world of Windows. Maybe best to go to one of the links on the MOTU site and ask them when to expect support for 11. Sales@motu.com is often a place to start.

Can you try the VST2 version?

Yes! This worked. Thanks so much. I'm embarrassed that I didn't think of that.
If this was the underlying cause of all my crashes, I'm both psyched and mystified.
