system help

i just installed dp 4.5 on my g5 today. im using it with my new 896hd. I just hooked it all up and im trying to play my itunes music thru the 896 into my monitors. When i play the music i get choppy noises. Ive installed the tiger driver update and i have the firewire console window setting changed to 44.1 sample rate. any ideas to help out. Thanks guys
