How do you freeze plug-ins

Hello,
Im trying to free up cpu in DP 4.6. I want to disable plug-ins so I can run Elektrik piano without the cpu clipping. In protools you can hit control & command and click the plug-in to disable. Is there a way to do this. Could not find anything in the manual.

Then you didn't look to hard:
Page 181-182
That's if you're referring to freezing...
If you're talking about just turning off a plugin hold the option
key and the pointer will turn into a finger.
Then click on the insert where the plugin is located.
The font will become italicized indicating it's been bypassed.
Or you could just open up the plugin and click the bypass button.

So does bypassing a VI or Plug-In in free up computer resources. I have tried that and setting outputs of the VI track to nothing and my computer is still being taxed by the plug/VI in DP 4.12

Eric. Go to Setup/Automation setup. Under "Automation preferences"
Check the box "Mute Frees System Resources". That should help to free up some CPU cycles.

Freezing was'nt the right term. You answerd my question about turning off plug-ins
