Exporting MIDI Selection to Specific Tracks

Hello everyone,
I have one MIDI file with four voices, and I'm trying to find an easy way to export a specific note MIDI selection to its own track. I have duplicated the one MIDI track with all the voices four times, and in each MIDI file, have erased all the other voices except the correct one. So in theory I have MIDI Voice 1, MIDI Voice 2, MIDI Voice 3, and MIDI Voice 4.
The problem comes in when I want to have more control within the voices themselves. I'm working with a kind of reverb soundscape, so when the chimes comes in and they're panned hard left, they're still ringing by the time I pan to hard right. I want them to ring in both ears in this scenario, so I'm forced to create two different tracks, one for when it comes in the left, and one for the right, to make sure they both have an opportunity to fade out accordingly.
TLDR; is there a way to record a MIDI note selection to a new track easily and quickly, without duplicating a MIDI file over and over?
Apologies if there's already an answer out there for this – I just do not know what this is called or whether it's even an option in the first place. I just do stuff the old-fashioned analog way if need be, but it is cumbersome and annoying at times.
