DP 11 naming strangeness

Post by EMRR »

New to DP11, doing some live tracking experiments, changing what's record enabled while rolling, nice to have that feature.

Some soundbites have the names as entered in the tracks, as I'm used to. Sometimes an entire record section is instead named input-1/etc. Then the next section will be the track name. What determines the behavior? Not finding anything in the manual that addresses initial naming preferences or varying behaviors. Initially I thought it was because I was record enabling new tracks while in record, but it's not following that pattern. Thanks

Latest recording, via Dante network, one out of several hundred soundbites is named 'Dante Virtual Soundcard 10' rather than the name assigned. Can't figure out why this hiccup occurs. This time there were quite a few times I enabled additional track while the transport was moving and in record. The soundbite in question was the first of many enabled while already recording.

AFAIK, it's determined by how you set the Audio Monitor window (Shift-A). In its mini-meu there's a setting called "Base Track Names On..." with the options: Track, Input or custom.

Make sure the tracks are set to your preference (Track). This will probably fix it.

That’s what doesn’t add up - everything is selected as track, and I’m talking about a 38 track live recording, same moment in time, no overdubs. Some random soundbites are named by input rather than track.

OK, next show recording, it's more specifically any tracks added or subtracted to a recording in progress. Didn't quite follow that last time.
