"UltraLite AVB" USB Kernel Panics on M1 MacOS 12.4

Hallo,

My "UltraLite AVB" soundcard connected via USB is crashing my M1 after some hours.

It seems there's some problems with the USB driver, that's what macOS report after the Kernel Panics.

I got 2 x M1s in my studio, and i run Bitwig on both computers, one M1 is connected to my Motu 1248, and the second computer is connected to the "UltraLite AVB" via USB . The crashes startet to happened after the last two updates?

I have been doing some testing and found out that the "UltraLite AVB" is the problem! When the "UltraLite AVB" is connected to the second M1 alone it will crash after hours? The first M1 running the 1248 don't crash the macOS. When i connect the "UltraLite AVB" to the first M1 it will crash the macOS with the same crash report as on the second M1. I got the latest drivers installed. And i use the AVB switch too. I hope that Motu will fix this soon! Anyone else experiencing the same problems on M1 MacOS, then please reply!

Best Regards!

I replied to you on my post. If you haven't opened a ticket with MOTU, I would do that as well.

Hi, that's cool! I guess we got the same problem with the "UltraLite"! I did read the Crash report that you posted in your own post and it looks very familiar to mine even to the fact that your machine is the Mac Pro. It seems there's a problem with the driver, my M1 crashes constantly using the UltraLite AVB soundcard. As i wrote i did some testing and i now know that the UltraLite is the problem. Its really a disappointment that Motu release a driver with a bug like this!? I hope they will fix it soon, otherwise my UltraLite is useless! :banghead:

Hi again! Tried to contact Motu with a Ticket, but their support site sucks! Won't let me send the Ticket to them! I am getting tired of the arrogance from all those "wannabe" companys with no support or the lack of it! Motu get your things together! :banghead:

Or... you can do it right.

You must log into your user account at motu.com and sent the ticket there— they call them Tech Links. Your hardware must be registered as well—if not registered, do that first which will create a User account for you to log into.

Hi Mike,

maybe you should slow down a bit!

How can you know what i did? How can you know if i am a registred user?

And why do you think you got the right to talk to me like that!?

First of all! I am doing it right! Otherwise i would not post a reply like that, get that!
Second, i am a registred user and i own more Motu interfaces and are in the studio & music business since the last 35 years!
Fact is it didn't work, period! Three times i filled in the info but the site don't reload, period!

And maybe you should put your energy in right solutions instead of posting tips there are non effective! Your solution on the topic another user did post about almost the same problem with the "UltraLite" is ridiculous! You would know that if you knew more about macs and macOS, that's the only thing your reply shows to me!

Be polite and have respect for people before you'r going Einstein!

Best Regards

In all fairness your post read more like a rant. If you had included more information, like that you *were* registered etc. (which you still haven’t actually confirmed), then maybe his reply would’ve been more useful to you. But you didn’t include a lot of information as to why the ticket didn’t go through. It just read like a rant.

In addition, portions of the MOTU.com web site have been known to go down over weekends. When that happens, you can’t do a thing till it’s rebooted the following Monday.

That said, if you are a registered user and if you were properly logged in, you will be able to send in a Tech Link.

Not sure what your mean “resume.” I simply said you didn’t give a lot of info as to why the Support Ticket didn’t go through. Complain to whomever you wish.
