PowerPC chips

Why is it that IBM can make PowerPC chips for the new Xbox that clock at 3.2Ghz whereas in the PowerMacs they can do any better than 2.7?

Who's throwing the big $$$ at them? I wonder if the Xbox is liquid cooled. :roll: I bet it's not running at that speed all the time.

Nahh, The XBox is a lot smaller than the Mac, so the heat has less distance to go to escape, so it gets out before the box has time to heat up. In the Mac, it has to go a long way, relatively, so the heat escapes into the big open box and heats the computer... :lol:
