DP needs Rosetta?

Not sure where to post this so I've put it in multiple forums. I trust that's ok.
I just sent this in a techlink to MOTU but of course they will be closed till Monday, so perhaps someone here knows the answer. Here's the question....
"Your website says "Digital Performer Version 11 is fully compatible with (and qualified for) macOS Big Sur and Apple silicon Macs" but I got a screen that said Rosetta needs to be installed before DP is installed. Is that so? Why? That doesnt really sound like "full compatibility", does it?
I'm trying to do a "clean install" on this machine and I dont want t put anything on it that I dont have to."
Anyone know?
