ultralite mk3 crashes the mac when waking up

Hello;
I recently got a macbook air M1; and I get through this ridiculous dongle chain to get to my ultralite mk3 (thunderbolt 3 -> thunderbolt 2 / thunderbolt 2 -> FW800 and a FW 800 to 400 cable). It seems to work fine; except when I try to put the computer to sleep; and bring it back to life; it restarts itself; and after the restart the MOTU is no longer detected (I have to turn it off; unplug it and plug it back again). It seems to be ok when I manually turn off the MOTU before putting the computer in sleep mode. Would there be any way to solve this? this is annoying to say the least.
Also I think sometimes when I don't output any sound from the system for a while it takes ten second to get sound again when I try to output something.
