32 or 64 bit

Do I remember correctly, that if you are using DP10 and Logic10, in OSX 10.13/14, with no wrappers, its not possible that you have any 32 bit plugins? I'm figuring out how to transition to the next version of Mac OS when Mojave becomes obsolete, and that's one of the things I want to check.

Correct. 32 bit plugs will not work in Catalina with any host.

Although JBridge lets 64 bit VSTs work in 32 bit apps, the opposite will not. Logic, of course, supports AU only.

OT but may be relevant, If you have any MacDraw/Paint/ClarisDraw/Works/AppleWorks graphics files, there’s a way to open them up on Intel Macs and convert them to 64 bit. Though those new files will open in Catalina, the conversion must be done in Mojave or earlier. Not free but not expensive either. It was nice to open a few hundred cassette and album covers that I did back in the day and convert them — I thought that artwork was lost forever and the old PDFs just don’t look as good.

Those old Apple WP, database and spreadsheet files can be opened in LibreOffice freeware but the graphics files never could.

I have Mojave and HS, but IIRC, Logic 10 and DP 10 won't host any 32 bits plugins anyway

Again correct but 32Lives works through Mojave — quite well, actually.
32 LIVES is compatible with virtually all 64-bit Audio Units and VST host applications, including Logic Pro X, Cubase, Ableton Live and Studio One.

Note: macOS Catalina 10.15 or newer is not supported.

OK, thanks again. I stopped using any 32 bit wrappers a long time ago, so it looks like all I have are 64s.

Me too but I have some old projects using them. Someday, when I have time (ha!), I should open them up in Mojave, replace the old plugs and save as DP 11. Gotta do it before I replace this iMP—whenever that will be—otherwise, there's no hurry.

Cool that 32Lives is working on Mojave! I’m still on High Sierra. I have a Liquid Mix that still works but it requires the 32 bit AU and it’s never going to be updated to 64 bit.

I don’t know if it happened with DP11 or my move to High Sierra but sometimes I get a blank white GUI on 32Lives wrapped plugs, however they do pass audio and function sans GUI.

For me, the blank GUI went away on some plugs when I did the free upgrade to 32Lives 2 which also supports VSTs. The last version is 2.0.6. Here are the release notes:

Understood. I’m on the latest version of 32 Lives. I haven’t used JBridge in ages, but I think if it came down to it, there’s a VST for Liquid Mix. I could try that. I really should go all 64 bit but I hate scrapping gear that works.
