MOTU AVB Ethernet-Thunderbolt vs USB3 cable

Are there anyone using the Ethernet to Thunderbolt cable on your Mac instead of the USB3 cable on a Motu AVB device?

What is yours experience and is it faster than USB3?

I'm investigating replacing my old 828mkII with an AVB device and I may have misinterpreted the docs, but don't pretty much all Macs have an AVB compatible ethernet port? If so, the why convert? AVB is an issue on Windows/PC boxes, but I was under the impression that audio et al carried on ethernet on the Mac. You mentioned the Mac, but posted in a Windows forum. Regardless, I don't believe a ethernet to TB adapter is a thing - it's the other way around.

Just for me it is needed to use as audio interface not only the connections.

Thanks for that. I see why you don't want to use the ethernet connection for audio on a Mac since it is not recommended. If your Mac doesn't have a TB port, then USB most likely the best option.
