Anyone have experience with this controller?

I owned one for a while, sold it. Functionality with DP is limited compared to Logic and several other DAWs. Most important for me, I didn't like the keyboard. Very noisy (clack), especially when doing key smears when playing Organ.

I ended up with the Roland A800 which, after being modified for better aftertouch response, is a good fit for me. Keyboard is much quieter. I modified AT response by removing the felt strip under the front of the white keys.

Interesting. I found this topic because I saw one of these for sale and was curious if the DP integration was any good.

I wish MOTU would build a master MIDI controller keyboard.

The Panorama looked bichin', but the motorized fader wouldn't address DP. The T Series were a better fit; I liked the setup but, again, the loud action bugged. My son has the T6 now.

Thanks for the info. I noticed that at the MOTU website, they mention that they support the NI Komplete keyboard controllers. Seems like that would be pretty cool if you had a big investment in Kontakt and other NI virtual instruments. Seems like that's the only game in town. I was looking at Novation and the Auto Map scheme, but that's not supported any more. It's frustrating finding controllers that integrate well with DP.

I've a P4.
The action sucks.
Pick your favourite: black keys or white keys.
Otherwise, you're done for.

The only reason I still have it is that no one's buying it.

DP has great OSC support though. Very straightforward.
So just make yourself a Max/Pd patch to control it. You'd have it in a weekend.
Any MIDI controller will do.
Plus you get a lot of bonus. Like infinite MIDI channels. Or MIDI generators.

That's a bummer. I think I'm going to try and get a Komplete Kontrol S61. Either a Mk 1 or Mk 2... but holding out to find a decent one used. I can't pop $800 for the S1 Mk 2 brand new. There's one within an hour or so drive for me for $400. I really should pull the trigger on that. I see a lot of potential in the NKS system. The more libraries I buy, the harder it is to FIND what I need when I need it.

I have to add though, that some are satisfied with the action.
I just like to play tender piano passages. The differences are really noticeable when you play quiet.
It's somewhat ok otherwise. Considering there's not much to choose from.
All we have is Novation SL, NI S, AKAI MPK, Panorama P, Arturia Keylab series. Shucks.
NI S is the most expensive, but some reviews on youtube are ghastly for the price.
e.g. https://youtu.be/cnEZ1z1yGi8. So definitely buy used.

Yeah... the good thing is that I'm a singer and a guitarist. Thus I play piano/keys with all the nuance of a guitarist. Usually I'm just using it to lay in pads, synth parts, or really basic horn parts, or things that don't really require much expressiveness. If I had to actually play piano with expressiveness, I know enough to call a friend of mine who is quite good to do it for me.
