How viable is the new Mac Mini (M1 chip)?

For recording and replacing your main Mac computer for recording and video work. Just wondering if this is a viable replacement for my aging 2013 Mac Pro. Without any real knowledge of the spec differences, I'm wondering if I can hook up enough SSDs, my Apogee Symphony and a second monitor using third party interface devices and possible have a kick butt machine.

Apple was going on about how much better Logic Pro and Final Cut are on it. Adobe saying the same about Photoshop.
Sounds pretty “viable” to me.
Otherwise, we’ll know when we know. This will happen over the next few months.

Keep in mind, this is NOT the replacement for the i5/i7 2018 Mac mini. This is the replacement for the low end i3 Mac mini. If its already blowing away a Mac Book Pro, just imagine what the top end's replacement is going to be like next year when it comes out.. I just bought my Mini at the end of June and was kinda mad when I saw I could get the new one for about $700 cheaper and then realized, its not the replacement for my i7 and it already eats it alive.
These are all their new 'entry level' ARM products.. I say, let the iPhone/iPad/Office crowd test these out first and lets watch the 'pro' models wipe the floor with everything before it when they release the next run.. They're only going to get 1000x better after this, and I guarantee you won't see the high end Mac mini with only two TB4 ports when it comes out.
