The Support link on Motu's website is for FAQs like this.

Thanks for the link but I cannot freeze more than 1 track either inst track or MIDI track. the freeze selected tracks is greyed out, unless I hit select all. Then it selects all my audio tracks. I have read the manual over and over looked at Faq's and can't get any real solutions. Thanks though, I am ready to call Big Daddy"s hot line.

So you're selecting BOTH the MIDI track AND the instrument track when freezing? You cannot just select ONE MIDI track, it has to be with the instrument track.

I can select one MIDI track at a time - but freezing works sometimes and sometimes not; I can't see why. (I do know to select both the MIDI track and the instrument track) What happens is it acts like it's freezing but then the resulting track has no data. Very frustrating!

That's pretty odd.
I've never had a single instance where freezing hasn't worked..
(when done correctly)

I've had it happen to me. Seemed to be no rhyme or reason about it. Didn't matter what the size of the project was or the number of VI tracks freezing at once. Totally unpredictable.
Eventually, I gave up on freezing and now just record the outgoing VI audio to stereo tracks I set up. And that works flawlessly every time.
And really that's all that DP freezing does for you anyway. Saves you no considerable time. In fact, I'm hard-pressed to really call it a freeze function. It's more like an auto-router. It still bounces in real-time unlike, say, Reason which can convert MIDI data to audio in an eye's blink.

This sounds like sometimes you mute the frozen track and never unmute it before re-freezing.

True enough..
Since it's never been a problem for me, I just use it out of habit.
I seem to recall an email from Motu saying it had something to do
with a timing issue regarding real time freezing vs faster then real time.
Muting?

No, trust me, I'm really careful about muting and un-muting. I wonder if it might be a speed issue? I use a PowerBook G4 800 with 512MB RAM. Maybe it's time for an upgrade...
