Tempo not aligning from sequence editor to waveform editor

Post by rosindabow »

I have a track - it is running at 155bpm. I had a friend play some bass on it and I wanted to do a little quantizing of his part. When I first clicked on the waveform editor of the bass the beats had literally nothing to do with the tempo. I noticed that the tempo was set to 120bpm (stating thatthe tempo was being derived from the sequence tempo) and there was no way to change it. So I returned to the sequence editor and copied the sequence tempo to soundbite. I returned to the Waveform Editor and now the tempo says 155bpm but the beats have nothing to do with the bass part. The bass is still playing back correctly but there does not seem to be a way for me to have it find the beats in the W.E.and have them align with the tempo and the S.E. Also, when I click through to the W.E. it places the waveform at measure 1, even though I am trying to edit measure 69 in the S.E. What have I done wrong here? This should be a simple task and I cannot figure out how to make this work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
