Multi tracks from 8pre-es into iPhone video app-- resolved

I'm going to record some music videos with my iPhone 8 using my 8pre-es for the audio input. It works fine as long as I only want to use analog inputs 1 and 2. Does anyone know how to use all 8 inputs mixed down into a stereo track with the internal digital mixer into an iPhone video recording? Or do I need to mix the multiple inputs with an external mixer into a stereo mix that can be input to analog inputs 1 and 2 on the 8pre-es? Perhaps I need a different video app than the apple "photos" app that comes with the phone?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

You are going via USB through the Apple USB 3 CCK, right? If not, that’s how you’re going to get there.

I don’t know the 8pre-es but if you can get your audio to USB 1/2 Out, you’re good, no matter what the USB interface.

GarageBand and Music Memos also came with your iPhone. If not, they’re free downloads. Sometimes, external audio doesn’t sync if there’s any latency in your audio chain. This lets you fix that in post if you have issues with Photos.

Thanks, Mike. Yes, I'm using the Apple USB 3 CCK. Haven't used the MOTU in several weeks, so my brain got a little frazzled by the seemingly infinite routing possibilities with a new recording device. I just needed to rout R & L mains of the MOTU to its analog outs 1 & 2, which are what the Apple USB 3 CCK feeds from, while using it with Photos on an iPhone, anyway. I've connected the MacBook Pro to the MOTU via ethernet, so I can still control the audio feed while taking video.
