Hi,

I have searched the MOTU site and cant find any drivers for OS9 for the PCI 424 card.

I am a relic from the 90s, I still use OS 9 very happily. I have moved house and had a disc with everything on and lost it. Damn it!

I use the PCI 424 card exclusivly for powering one single 24 i/o. A superb interface that they dont make anymore. Not sure if the 24 i/o is relivant to what driver so thought Id include anyway.

Does any kind soul on here have the same card as me and perhaps the disc that came with? Or better a link to the last ever driver (ie latest) for OS9.

You know this is the second post on this forum (my first one was 9 years ago) and neither time did I get so much as an aknowlegment.

I’ll acknowledge the fact that I don’t have any drivers for OS9 anymore. Hopefully someone can chime in who can assist you.

I'd be shocked if anyone on this board maintained a machine with OS9. This board didn't exist in that era. There was barely even an internet back then.

If only for environmental reasons, props to you for, not succumbing to the constant drumbeats to continue to upgrade everything and, sticking with that old gear that probably would work just fine. I'd suggest seeking a niche discussion board dedicated to legacy mac OSs or DAWs. Until Yahoo took down their boards there was a StudioVision forum with a few people that kept OS9 rigs going. Wow. That's a long time ago. I still have the Dual 800 Mac I used DP 3.11 (?) on from ~2000. I kept it to use my Korg Oasys card which I've since moved to a PC. I don't think I had my 2048mk3 or PCI-424 back the though. I think I got that around OS X 10.2. I can dig it out and check the drive. Maybe there was a general audio interface installer that works for it.
Have you tried writing to MOTU? They might keep old stuff like that even if it isn't online.

Until recently, all of this except the original install CD was available on the MOTU/Downloads site. It is now gone.

I have a G4 that dual-boots into OS 9 and 10.4.11.

There is a miniscule chance that I have those drivers archived somewhere. After all, why would I? They were always on the MOTU site.

I dug out my DP3 disc for OS 9 but it only has the PCI-324 drivers. And I dug out my DP4 disc, but it only has the OS X PCI-424 drivers.

I did find drivers that might work at MacOS9Lives by doing a search for "MOTU PCI-424 System."
I know this forum doesn't condone piracy, and neither do I, but since the OS 9 drivers are pretty much abandonware, were previously freely downloadable, and require the hardware to use them, I don't see the harm in mentioning that as an option.
I don't think I got my PCI-424 with the 2408 until after OS X came out, so I never needed the OS 9 drivers for that.

324 and 424 take the same drivers. There were many updates including those for OS 9.

Contact MOTU. It appears that all drivers before OS 10.4 are now gone. Maybe if There are enough requests, they’ll put ‘em back.
