Presonus 24R AVB into a 828ES

Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone has run into this. I am running a 24R from Presonus into the MOTU AVB switch and into the 828ES.
This works perfectly at 44.1 but the problem is when I switch everything to 48k the audio vanishes and from what I can tell the MOTU is struggling to lock onto the clock. It sees the streams coming from the 24R though.
The 24R does function correctly as it can go AVB at 48k into a Mac and record properly. I had though it was the Personus but it more and more seems to be something on the MOTU side.
