Installing DP 10 demo on machine with DP 9.52

I would like to install DP 10 as a demo first before actually upgrading from 9.52. So I just want to make sure I take the right steps to keep DP 9 while installing DP 10. Am I correct in thinking I should:
- rename DP 9 in the Applications folder from "Digital Performer" to something like "DP 9.52"
- then download and install DP 10?
I know this has been mentioned in some threads, but I'm feeling very cautious about this and want to make sure I don't screw things up in DP 9 in case DP 10 doesn't work well. Exact steps I should take in this process would be helpful to know.
Thanks for any info.
