i just bought a g4 dual 1.25 in order to make the leep to osX/dp4 from my old titanium 550/dp3 set-up.
the osX install CD never gave me the option to partition my hard drive and create an os9 system folder. should i even worry about classic at this point or should i just shut the door on the os9 past? i would love to keep a "copy" of my old cpu and figure, "what the heck", since i have a 120 gig drive..
any ideas?
partition? classic?

Well the question would be - do you need OS9? Classic? Are refering to having just OS9 on a seperate partition? If so:
Boot from OSX install CD. quit out of install. Then go to disk utlity: Repair the disk, then set it up to wipe and partition & add OS9 drivers. After that, you can install the OS' into the seperate partitions.
