3) It has been answered before.....(but I CAN'T FIND IT)

Why no response? I'm guessing #1.
It's a question for the folks who code DP, not those who simply use the software!

Who says it’s broken?

This is pretty simple really.
PreGen works more or less by buffering or generating a good chunk of time to take resources off of the CPU, how do you do that for the master fader? You would be buffering already buffered audio, and relying on the end user to do absolutely nothing during playback in order to PreGen. The Master fader and Aux tracks are not recording tracks, they're real time by default, so how do you buffer something that's not supposed to have a buffer? it's the same as a record enabled track.

Thank you for the detailed answer.

I don't think there is anything broken. Just part of the design as well delineated in Michaels above post. For us... the only plugs or tools that ever go on our master faders, are the ones that are monitoring type tools... like ADPTR MetricAB, M/S auditing stuff and stuff that never gets printed. All our processing tools get placed on what we call the Mix Aux, which is the source of where our prints get done. That Mix Aux then feeds into the final master fader for monitoring.

What I don't understand is why on Bass track plugs are in RT.
On shaker track the same plug ProQ3 in on PG mode

Copy pasted from the manual below.
Pre-gen operation with 3rd-party plug-ins
MOTU works hard to ensure a high level of
compatibility with 3rd-party virtual instruments
and effects. There may be cases where pregeneration
may not work as expected with a given
3rd-party plug-in. These cases should be reported
to MOTU and the plug-in vendor so that
compatibility can be fully established. In the
meantime, you can run the plug-in or instrument
in real time. To force a virtual instrument track into
real-time operation, record-enable any MIDI track
that targets the instrument. To force an audio
track’s effects into real time, the track can either be
record-enabled or monitor-enabled. Alternately,
the effect can be placed on an aux track, either in a
chunk or a V-rack, with bussing used to access the
effect. Aux track effects are always rendered in realtime.
If you do not have the track record enabled, an open GUI window from that track etc. etc. it's still possible it's one of the plug ins that's causing issues.
Absolutely no offense meant, but you can always do some troubleshooting yourself.
Save the project, then take out the plug ins that are different between the two tracks, hit play etc. if that doesn't get the track to go into PG, then it's not one of the plug ins. I'm almost willing to bet it's IQ-EQ considering all the side chain possibilities of that plug in, it might force DP into Real Time.
You can have it set up to where plug ins run in real time if you have an open plug in window etc. so watch out for that as well.

Thanks Michael for your reply.....absolutely no offense taken....
"Problem" is because of side chain
I am using ProQ 3 side chain and that is forcing all plugins in the same track to run in RT mode.
