Need advice on a USB-C dock

I recently purchased a Startech USB Hub for my new MBP.
My problem is that the computer does not see my Vienna Key or my iLok when they are connected to the hub. They appear normally when connected via a USB-C to USB 2 adaptor.
Can anyone recommend a hub (or dock) that will work?

Do you need all USB-C outputs? If not, I have one of these in one of the TB3/USB-C ports on a new Mini, via an Apple adaptor. I'm sure you can get it cheaper. I have an iLok, an elicencer , Waves dongle and a mouse receiver in it, along with some USB 3 drives, and other misc stuff. Works fine. Make sure what you get says it is compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1
