New angle on previous question

I had posted last week needing help importing old Performer files into DP 8. Several looks (thank you for that!), but no advice yet.

I remember that at one point I could import old Performer files into DP, but can't remember the latest version where that could be done...v. 6 or 7?

I'm one of those, for good or ill, who doesn't keep older versions on my computer when upgrading to the newer version. So, I don't have 6 or 7 around.

One last big ask: if you have an older version of Performer or DP that could import these files, would you be willing to do that and then export them as MIDI files?

Thanks again for any help that may be forthcoming...

As far as I know DP is able to open older DP files. I just opened a DP 2.7 file with DP 10. It opens in version 9 as well. When you say performer, do you mean pre-Digital Performer? Not sure about those. I didn't start using DP until it was DP.

Have you tried the Load command? Or maybe it's a file suffix thing. :?

Good point on the file suffix. The files in question are from 1992, so definitely pre-DP.
Do you happen to know the file suffix that could be used?
Thanks so much for responding!

Well, currently, DP uses .dpdoc. I'd give that a try and see what happens. Worst possible scenario is DP crashes, which causes a massive power surge. Which in turn shuts down the country's entire power grid and there is death and suffering everywhere.

Yeah, I'd try .dpdoc for starters.

The other thing to think about is Mac OS. I don't even remember what OS was being used in 1992. Maybe it's a resource fork thing or sumpthin.

I would rather take the guess of a humble man than the arrogant assurance of an ***hole.

Thanks, again, Phil.
